Rest, recover and relax

After yesterday’s tough session, today was all about recovery. It all started early with a 7:45am Yoga session led by Dave. There were plenty of moans and groans as the achy bodies began limbering up.

An out and back run along the Quarteira promenade followed, but this was at a relaxed conversational pace. The main aim was to enjoy this and recover from the tough cross country. A big Track day being on the cards for tomorrow!

There was lots of free time today. Some had a stroll, others headed to the hotel spa, whilst others headed to a local gym for a “leg” day.

Next up was the 4pm Practical session. The spiky ball made another appearance and this time we worked on our hamstrings and thighs. Spiky balls are definitely on the list of torture weapons!  We moved onto an ab workout, which ended with an impressive “plank off”!

We finished this session working through animal movements, from frogs, to bears, to gorillas! Great fun, and now we were warmed up and ready for our second run of the day, a 30 minute loop of the town.

Dinner was sandwiched between the two halves of Disco’s quiz. Which was great fun, thank you Dave.

And the sun sets on another fantastic day! Bring on that Track session and the world record attempt at the Beer Mile! Tomorrow may get messy!
