Clinical Pilates

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) are increasingly issuing updated guidelines to the NHS that prescribe exercise over medication to improve physical and mental well-being for a variety of health-related issues.

Here at our clinic, we’ve always been advocates of “move to improve” to live and age well but we understand too that beginning a journey to exercise can sometimes be uncomfortable. With that in mind our clinically led, function based Pilates sessions aim to give you the confidence to make exercise a less scary concept.

Pilates as a progressive exercise form is beautifully inclusive and as such anyone, regardless of age or ability can access this health enriching exercise. Whereas most forms of exercise build the body’s stronger muscles, the clinical approach to Pilates teach exercises that work as much or more to strengthen the weaker ones too.  It’s these types of exercises that help us work towards a properly balanced body, with better joint mobility, a firm musculature and a calmer, more relaxed mind.

Our small FACE-TO-FACE Pilates classes (maximum of six clients) run at the following times:-

  • Monday - 3.45pm and 4.45pm
  • Tuesday - 4.15pm, 5.15pm, 6.15pm and 7.15pm
  • Wednesday - 7.30am, 8.30am, 9.30am and 10.30am
  • Thursday - 7.30am, 8.30am, 9.30am and 10.30am

Our ONLINE class runs bright and early on a Monday morning 7.30am for a 7.45am start via Zoom

We also offer ONE-TO-ONE sessions on a Monday evening between 5.45pm - 8.00pm

Celine Blizard

Celine multi tasks here at the clinic managing her time between her first passion of teaching Pilates, the relatively recent addition of a Soft Tissue Clinic and the need to keep on top on the clinic books!

Celine qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 2002 and worked in high profile food manufacturing until the call of her first love became too great to ignore. She began practising Pilates herself back in 2008 following the birth of her daughter and after feeling the benefits for herself she was hooked on this uniquely precise and intelligent approach to exercise and body conditioning.

Celine's Pilates qualifications are centred around the clinical approach to Pilates having initially gained a Modern Pilates Matwork Level 3 in March 2016 and then certification with the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute (APPI) in October 2018. Celine continually adds to her professional development by regularly attending a variety of classes, workshops and courses for both Pilates and Soft Tissue Therapy.
