Team Blizard Race Report
Once again it is that time to celebrate all the achievements of the Team Blizard community in the races they have done in the last week.
We kick off this week’s race report with a couple of cross country races as Saturday saw the rearranged Yorkshire cross country championships at Lightwater Valley where so many of you raced on the muddy undulating loop so a big well done to you all who raced across the age groups and well done to all those who made it into the Yorkshire team for the inter counties later in the year.
A little nearer home saw the next round of the Inter Club cross country take place at Handsworth on Sunday and training partner to many of the team Tom Shaw took the overall win once again on a muddy course.

Friday night regular on the Blizard Run Club live strength and conditioning class Anna Thompson was victorious and 1st V60 in the hilly Folksworth 15 mile road race as we build towards a spring marathon.
Team Blizard were in full force in the ever popular Brass Monkey half marathon.
Run from the famous York racecourse and using the local super fast village roads surrounding it was a fab day in the office for many of you with some great times being registered.
There really were too many of you running to mention everyone but a few of the eye catching performances were had by:
Portugal bound Spencer Higgins
Long term coached athlete Keri Pearson 2nd V40
Wayne Singleton massive new pb
Laura Mann recent test and massive pb
Lydia Race massive new pb
Romany Tune massive new pb
Sue Crabtree return to racing
Coached athlete Abi Holloway massive new pb to name just a short number of you.

However, each week as you know we like to single out an individual performance which we believe warrants the title “Run of the Week” and this week that goes to long time Team Blizard member and coached athlete Gill Coulson.
Gill has been a runner for many years and in the past represented England Masters in the marathon but has a series of health and injury issues which would have made most people give up the sport.
Gill however has worked closely with both Dave and Jenny and is a valuable member of the training group and we were delighted to see her smash Brass Monkey and just miss out on going under 90mins for the half marathon but more importantly showed she is almost back to the form she had before all her issues and if anyone needs some motivation just look at her resilience.

As mentioned before well done to everyone who raced and sorry if we missed anybody off and thank you for sending in your results as Power of 10 website being offline for a couple of weeks certainly hasn’t helped pulling the results together!
Until next week…….keep training!
