The real training begins

The day starts at 7:45am with a gentle Yoga session. The whole group (except the one person who slept in, you know who you are!), were able to mobilise ready for the first run of the day.

The run was a repeat of yesterday’s route with an added section around an equestrian centre. The conditions were perfect, and a light shower was a refreshing addition. Though not a traditional Sunday Long Run it was 10 miles.

Breakfast can only be described as awesome! Just perfect after the mornings training.

Free time started around 11am and we were able to explore a little further. Some opted for a  promenade walk in the sunshine, others to head to the Marina.

Next up a 4pm Practical session. A date with a Spiky ball! Having instructions on how to use the ball effectively on the plantar fasciitis and calf muscle was a bonus to take home and use whilst watching the TV. Dave then challenged us with some skipping run drills. Combining technique and coordination was great fun and definitely got us warmed up ready for the second run of the day.

The final run was a 35 minute steady circular route around Vilamoura. Again no one was left behind and the back markers were kept company by the allocated bike rider. The pace was conversational and relaxed.

Some free time before dinner allowed us to check in at home, grab some essentials or take a well earned nap. Dave made himself available for anyone wanting individual coaching chats before dinner too.
Today the sun set in spectacular fashion!
