Dynamic PRE RUN mobility routine
RAMP is an acronym for:
Raise - blood flow, muscle temperature and core temperature
Activate and Mobilise - the muscles, connective tissue in the movements required for the sport
Potentiate- progressive development of intensity up to the maximal effort.
- The warm up is a key stage of your running program and maximising those vital 10-15 minutes of precious time should be focussed on raising your temperature in a way that also helps you improve your running too. These exercises can range from single joint movements through to complex multi joint movements, technical run drills, plyometrics and sprinting. Whilst there is a general method for a RAMP warm up, this can differ depending on the session ahead.
- The warm up is an opportunity to improve the execution of movements, for someone running 3 x per week, that is 45 minutes of exercises so make it effective!!
