Race Report 8th August 2022

This week’s race report might be a little light on races we cover but the quality  is of the highest order!

We generally don’t cover Park Run events, not that we don’t like them but the facts that so many of you run them that the race report would take some weeks all week to read! We do however like to mention when the Blizard Crew decide to do an away day Par Run event and this time round we chose the excellent Doddington Hall event near Lincoln which we can recommend as it is super fast.

Team Blizard athletes filled the first 4 positions with Tom Shaw taking the overall win in a new personal best time and then was backed up by several of the team!

Sunday took us a little further north to the York 10k held in the historic city which although popular is not really a fast course so to take a 4mins course personal best by coached athlete Rome Doisneau was a fantastic run while Blizard Run Club regular in the live class on Friday Carol Farr saw her run a lifetime personal best which was a fantastic run.

No Walk in the Park 5k saw great runs from Blizard supporters Peter Twigg from Clowne Road Runners and North Derbyshire’s Shaun Johnson but “Run of the week” goes to Sheffield athlete Sam Gilliver who broke the tape in first place and smashed his best ever time stopping the clock in an impressive 15.36mins.
