Team Blizard Race Report
Massive well done to all those who raced over the last 7 days and who have taken time to email in with your race results as it really helps us pull all the results together.
It has been a bumper week of action so make yourself a brew, sit down and read on!
We kicked off the week up in Scotland where we saw Freddie Fearn take part in the Scottish National road relays in Glasgow where is Edinburgh team came a fine 4th position and Fred running a storming leg himself.
Heckmondwike 10k saw Portugal bound Seth Kirby turn in a fine performance on what is an undulating course.
Moving up a distance to the half marathon it has been a busy weekend with firstly another Portugal bound athlete in Richard Burke taking part in the Oulton Park race.
The ever popular new event of the Middlesboro half marathon was held on a fast course and it was an excellent performance from two marathon bound coached athletes in Elle Warren turning in a fine performance to take 2nd lady overall positions while Al Reid used the race as part of his marathon preparation and ran a very useful time.
Worksop was the venue for the final cross country league and an athlete in fine form in Tom Shaw once again took the overall win and this was backed up by another great result from Natalie Neville who used the race as part of her own marathon training program.

Where do we start and begin with these next set of results as there were so many fantastic runs/efforts so please forgive us if we miss anyone.
The North Lincs 10k and half marathon has always produced fast times and Sunday was no exception.

With several athletes using the race as part of training towards the marathon and still running very close to their best ever time like:
Colin Storrar
Chris Jackson the list goes on and on!

However, the final race to report from was a little further away in the Tokyo marathon.
The first athlete to mention is Stephen Davies Steve “Pot Black” Davies who completed his all Major marathons albeit he did nearly all of the previous ones before Major’s were a thing!

The week’s “Run of the Week” goes to a popular member of the training team in Matt Harvey who also ran in Tokyo.
Matt first came to the clinic way back in 2013 as he had run the Las Vegas marathon and wanted to improve his time and aim towards the Edinburgh marathon with his target being trying to beat 3.30hrs.
Matt has stuck to the principles of training since that day and on Sunday in Japan stopped the clock in an impressive 2.36hrs which is an improvement of an hour since that test way back.
Total respect to him for nailing that performance in hot conditions and we hope he is reading this in a bar somewhere!

Massive well done once again to everyone who raced and until next week….keep training!
