Race Report 30th January 2023

This week sees the race report return as many of the athletes of Team Blizard were in action up and down the country!

The first race to report from is the rearranged fixture of the Bolsover 10k which traditionally takes place in December.

Clowne athlete Malc Stapleton returned to the racing scene with a solid performance while another Clowne athlete in Allison Preece not only registered a new personal best over 10k but also over 5k too! There was a solid run from Sheffield athlete Christain Hopkins as his return to form continues.

Sunday saw the running of the ever popular Ferriby 10 mile road race over in Hull and once again the race didn’t disappoint.

Held over the undulating loop from Skidby Mill saw the runners face a head wind over the first 5 miles before being able to take advantage of a back wind and downhill fast second half to the race before a nasty climb to finish!

There were sterling runs from Portugal bound athletes Mike Skelton, Deon Leggat,Coach Tune and second in command Disco Dave. While new personal bests were registered by Andy Teasdale, Jody Murray, Viviane Fraser, Steve Maddock and Kevin Dunn to mention just a few who smashed the race.

However, “Run of the week” goes to a regular training partner Lee Varley who made light work of difficult conditions and gain the title this week which is fully deserved.
