Team Blizard Race Report

We have another bumper Team Blizard race report for you, where races up and down the country took place, with the common theme of excellence from our community shining through.

The first race to mention is the very undulating but picturesque Chatsworth House 10k, where coached athlete Tommy Sharp gave a great display in his first race for a long while.

A  little nearer home, the ever popular Sheffield 10k took place on a slightly new route which had one or two nasty little hills added. Many of you ran with too many to mention everyone but a few of the eye catching performances came from coached athletes David Butler, Angela Lally, and Kev Simpson while regular training partner to many of you Matt Wroe gave a fine displays on a course not designed for PBs.

The long standing Nottingham Half Marathon proved happy hunting ground for many of you, with long term coached athlete Sarah Lowry using it as training, while Ackworth duo of Richard Burke put in a fine performance, and Maksims Palciks just missing out on run of the week with his 4 minute PB as he stopped the clock in 1 hours 23, and is a great example of the training he has put in, while North Derbyshire athlete Mark Trolley made a welcome return to form.

However, each week we must have a “Run of the Week”, and without being biased on family, this week goes to Romany Tune who ran in the Lake Dorney Marathon near Windsor. With little or no marathon preparation, Romany wanted to qualify for this year's London Marathon, and registered an excellent 3 hours 21 minutes to take 4th place lady overall, and this week's well deserved run of the week.

Keep those performances going, and thank you to everybody who sent in their runs for this week, we really do appreciate it, and until next week………. keep training!
