Team Blizard Race Report

Once again the whole community have pulled out all the stops and created another set of amazing race results and here is a short round up of them:

Kicking off the action it was great to see Cleethorpes athlete Deon Leggat show everyone a fresh pair of heels as he took the overall win in the Meridian 10k and it marked a welcome return to form for this athlete.

Same distance, different venue a lot further south saw Retford athlete Faith Edgington-Mole have  a fine run in the Worthing 10k down on the south coast.

Staying with the 10k theme and the ever popular Leeds Abbey Dash once again proved to be the place to run if you want a fast 10k.
The out and back course has over the last 20+ years provided the perfect place for fast times and this year it once again delivered!
We so many of the team running it really is impossible to name everyone but some of the more standout performances came from, Cam Reilly who smashed his previous best, our very own training partners in Sam Gilliver, Danny James and Shane Grace with Shane taking the V45 title.
Coached athletes Rome Doisneau, Ruth Muir, Elle Warren all performed excellently while we saw new personal best from Mark Chapman, Alice Fearn to add to the long list of success stories on the day.

The next race to mention was the Battersea Park marathon where coached athlete Paul Massey was using as his last super long run as we aim towards the Valencia marathon in a few weeks.
Not only did Paul complete the race and take the V65 title but he took an amazing 17 minutes off his previous best time and we only used it as a training run!

Any other week this performance would have earned him the title of “Run of the Week” but alas this week that title goes to another coached athlete in the shape of Scott Burrell.
Scott was running in the Valencia half marathon and smashed his previous personal best time to stop the clock in an impressive 74.47mins.
The time alone is impressive enough but when we look back at the improvements this coached athlete has made since his very first test in August 2020 it is nothing short of amazing.
When Scott first came to the clinic for his first ever lactate test his half marathon stood at a modest 1.42hrs which he had set in the Copenhagen half marathon before working with Dave.
Now that is impressive!!!!

Let’s keep these results rolling in and until next week…..keep training!
