Race Report 24th October 2022

Oct 25, 2022
This week’s race report although quite light on the number of races we had runners at they certainly did not lack in the quality that was produced!

Cross country has a theme for the first two races we cover as coached athlete Marti Whitehouse showed a welcome return to the racing scene while running a leg for her club Nott AC in the Midland cross country relays which were held near Wolverhampton.
A little nearer home and the Northern Athletics cross country relay championships  were held at Graves Park in Sheffield.
With so many athletes running for their own club over the undulating course there really is too many of you to mention everyone so we will say well done to all those who raced!

We have an oversea's feel for our next athlete to mention as Derby Runner Paul Massey produced a pb over in the Valencia half marathon on a great course.

Moving into Sunday and the weather taking a turn for the worse in Leeds for the ever popular Leeds Abbey Dash 10k road race that starts in the city center before heading out and back to Kirkstall Abbey.
Despite the heavy rain there were some eye-catching runs and personal best performances firstly from ever improving athlete Rome Doisneau.

While there was a new personal best also for Team Blizard regular training partners Gav Edley, Becky Friar and Nigel Fuller both fresh from their recent London marathons!

Tracey Fearn ran well to take 4th V50 position while great runs were had from the posse of Clowne Road Runners in Peter Twigg, Malc Stapleton, John Sanderson and Giles Searby.

However, “Run of the week” goes to ever popular training partner Robbo Roberts who while visiting family in Wales only went and WON the Bangor 10k road race!
Well done Robbo and well deserved.
Well done everyone and we really appreciate you all sending in your weekend’s results as we hate to miss people off.
Until next week…….keep training!
