Team Blizard Race Report
The winds may have been blowing over the weekend but the athletes from Team Blizard community have been “storming” over all sorts of distances and surfaces over the last week!
We kick off this race report on the cross country where Parliament Hill’s in London hosted the National cross country champs.
For those who have never done the National cross country championships the sight of the Men’s race set off and the feel of the ground shaking as thousands of runners charge up that first hill is a sight to behold and experience!
There was an excellent showing from both Tom Shaw who continues his great vein of form and Portugal bound Seth Kirby in the Senior men's race and we bet you still are trying to get the mud out of your shoes.

The popular Snake Lane 10 mile road race usually produces very fast time due to the excellent course but this year the times were down slightly due to the high winds that hit the runners in the last 4 miles.
However, we still saw excellent runs from Cleethorpe athlete Michael Skelton as well as eye catching performances from both Aaron Lowery , Richard Burke and occasional training partner from Scarboro Andrew Hopper!

The warmer conditions of the Seville marathon kicked off the first of the marathons that we have athletes running in this year and no better way to start a new marathon campaign that with new personal best from long time supporter of the clinic Giles Searby from Clowne Road Runners who took an impressive 4 minutes off his best previous time only to be be “outdone” by coached athlete from North Derbyshire Mark Trolley who “lobbed” an impressive 15 minutes off his previous best time.

However, this week's “Run of the Week” goes to another marathon bound athlete in Jonathan Barnett who not only took the V60 title in the Leicestershire half marathon but also managed to run a new personal best time to show he is well on track for the London marathon.

Many thanks to all those who sent in their results and well done to everyone who raced.
Until next week……keep training!
