Team Blizard Race Report
We have another “bumper” race report to share with you of all the success the Team Blizard community has produced in the last week of racing.
A massive thanks to all those who have sent in their individual results as it really helps us pull it all together.
Kicking off the weekend we saw brother and sister duo of Freddie and Alice Fearn both put in an excellent performance in the Flat and Fast 5k road race up in Edinburgh with both coming away with fast times in their first race back after an end of season break.

Saturday and Sunday saw the running of the popular Tissington Trail half marathon and we saw excellent runs from North Derbyshire coached athlete Matt Taylor as we build towards some big targets in the next few months.
Another coached athlete continued with their excellent form in Tracey Gibson who took the V60 win and came 5th lady overall while Portugal bound Matty Bell produced his best run for a while with a brand new personal best over the half marathon distance.

It was a busy Saturday for road relay championships with the Midland champs being held in Sutton Park in Birmingham while the Northern version was over in Stanley Park, Blackpool.
With so many of you running it is too long a list to name everyone but well done to you all and good luck in the National final in a couple of weeks.
Moving into Sunday and down the country in London we saw Clapham Chaser and coached athlete Scott Burrell smash his best ever time for a mile in the ever popular Westminster mile race.

The Redcar half marathon took place further north and there was a fine return to form for Leeds athlete Ruth Muir in the race that doubled as a Master’s qualifying event.
Further north still saw Tracey Fearn run in the Edinburgh 10k and not to be out done by the kids had a fine run to record an age group win by over 10 minutes!
The final race to report from was one where many of the guys from Cleethorpes AC were using as a large number of the guys who have been to the clinic are targeting the Amsterdam marathon in 4 weeks time. The Warrington Half Marathon.
It was great to see recent tester and athlete who used our marathon sessions to progress in Simon Hammerton smash his personal best time and also clinic regular Callum Ely put in another fine performance.

However, this weeks “Run of the Week” goes to another Cleethorpe’s AC athlete in Brett Silvester as he totally blew away his previous best time for the half marathon and shows he is getting into great shape just at the right time.

Another fantastic week of results and until next week…..keep training!
