Team Blizard Race Report

We have another bumper race report for you this week with races up and down the country over a variety of distances and surfaces but with one common theme of excellence running right the way through the results!

Tuesday evening kicked off things for the week with the ever popular Dam Flask road relays taking place in the lovely village of Lower Bradfield near Sheffield.
If  you thought going up the big hill was a challenge then the crazy downhill to finish is just as bad to navigate!
Well done to all of those who raced and there were so many of you all it would be a full report naming everyone! Hope everyone’s quads have recovered!

There are plenty of mid week races taking place this time of the year and the inform Lee Davies made high work of the Leeds 5k taking the overall win in a new personal best time and this was backed up by recent lactate tester Massi Federici who ran a new personal best within 8 weeks of his original test!

Wollerton Hall was the sense for our next race to mention in the Notts League race where training partner to many of you Tom Shaw ran well.

The Lincoln 5k series has been going for many years and always draws a decent field on the cycle track near to the running track and once again many of you used it as a fast race including regular Friday night Blizard Run Club attendee Anna Thompson.

The Wolds Tough 10 is not named this for nothing and the tough hills proved no obstacle for Bing Yan who took 3rd place overall and he was chased hard by coached athlete Dean Thomas and Tracey Gibson both giving a great performance on the tough course.

Friday evening saw the running of the Ekiden relay near Henley on Thames where Freddie Fearn raced in his last time for his university team and ran really well in hot conditions.

This weekend was the next round of the track league races and both Seth Kirby and Tom Shaw were again on duty for their respective clubs in the distance races.

The final race to report from is the Darrington 5 mile road race which was held on Saturday starting at mid day!
There were so many of you who braved the hot conditions and well done to you all however this week’s “Run of the Week” goes to Maksims Palciks who not only ran a new personal best time but took 3rd place overall and well done that man!

As always thanks to all of you who sent your results in and a massive well done to everyone who raced ... .until next week….keep training!
