Team Blizard Race Report
Just when you think the last week’s report cannot be “topped” you guys only go and do it again with an unbelievable week/weekend of results.
We will start off apologizing if we have missed anyone off in this report as there was/are just too many fantastic results to keep up with but well run to anyone we may have missed!
An athlete in fine form is Alice Fearn who helps to kick off this week’s report with another fine performance as on Saturday she ran in the Northern cross country relays over at Graves Park in Sheffield for her club Rotherham Harriers.

Poor weather over the weekend tried to dampen performances but it clearly didn’t work as the level of outstanding runs in clearly poor conditions shone through!
The ever popular Scarborough 10k had a very strong wind to slow the runners in the second half of the race but there still were great runs from Richard Burke and Matty Bell to name a couple of the team that ran really well.
The Amsterdam half and full marathon is always very popular and run on a fast course. In the full marathon there were great runs from Cleethorpe athletes Bret Silvester and Simon Hammerton with the later going under that magical 3.00hrs barrier for the very first time while coached athlete Kev Geer ran superbly to smash his best marathon time and show that age is no barrier to stop you improving!

The Yorkshire marathon and 10 mile road race is always an ever present fixture for people to train towards and this year was no exception.
The 10 mile race uses the same start and finish as the full marathon and there were some superb performances from Nathan Doy Elle Warren Ruth Muir Aaron Lowery Will Sykes Sarah Sanderson Andrew Hopper and Matt Taylor

Finally the last race to report from was the full marathon and top marks to anyone who raced the full distance in those conditions and once again there simply is too many to mention everyone by a shout out to for coached athletes Bokmun Chan in his first marathon and also Tommi Baker who beat his 8 year old marathon personal best.

However, this week’s “Run of the Week” is a joint award to two of the team who share the title.
Firstly, to Kev Simpson who knocked off an impressive 60 full minutes….yes you read it correctly and Dawn KeeliganPink Bird who took over 45 minutes off her time from last year and really did “fly” round!

Massive respect to each and everyone who raced and long may it continue……until next week…..keep training!
