Team Blizard Race Report
A massive well done to everyone who raced over the last week and thank you to all those who sent in their individual results as it really helps us pull them all together.
The first race to report from was in the warmer climates of Dubai where North Derbyshire athlete Neil Yewman made light work of the hot conditions running in the Dubai half marathon.
Staying on the roads but dropping down a distance to 10k saw coached athlete Al Reid run well in the Newcastle 10k as he prepares for a spring marathon.
Keeping with the 10k distance saw one of Coach Tune’s longest serving coached athletes Brenda King compete in the Sherwood Pines 10k trail race.
Just missing this weeks “Run of the Week” we saw Worksop athlete Tom Shaw show everyone a clean pair of heels in the latest cross country league which this time round was held on the tough Clowne course.
There is always a scrabble to obtain a number for the Brass Monkey half marathon from the racecourse in York due to the nature of this super fast course.
This year once again produced some outstanding performances and new personal bests from many of the athletes of Team Blizard with some eye catching one’s from: Freddie Fearn, Rob Milner, Richard Ward, Elle Warren, Ruth Muir, Romany Tune, Tracey Gibson, Aaron Lowery to name just a few.
There really was so many of you running it was impossible to mention everyone so well done to you all. However, this week’s “Run of the Week” goes to Cleethorpe AC athlete in Dean Thomas who ran the perfect race to smash his old personal best by some margin and gain this weeks title!
