Team Blizard Race Report
It has been another action packed weekend of races where so many of you have excelled once again so let’s try and cover as many races as possible in this week’s race report!
Kicking the week off on Saturday we saw Wolds Vet athlete Tracey Gibson traveled over to Belfast for the England Master’s cross country representative match where she put in a fine performance.

Staying with the cross country and off road theme we saw the first round of the Peco cross country leagues around Temple Newsam in Leeds. Runners had to negotiate a very tough course and well done to all those who raced as we know there were several of you you “enjoyed it”!@Ruth Muir Emma Smith Ian Maudsley Will Sykes

It was also the next round of the South Yorkshire cross country league this time over near Barnsley and once again well done to all those who raced.
The final off road/trail event to mention was the Rangers 2 day Ultra event where coached athlete Kevin Walker only went and won and hopefully is taking a well deserved day off today after covering just short of 60 miles in the 2 days!

Getting back onto firmer ground the first race to mention from the road was the Fulham 10k where Derby athlete Paul Massey took the V70 1st place

A special mention needs to go to long time supporter of the clinic Eric Winstone who made the long trip down to run in the Brighton 10k after returning from a long term injury and operation and is a shinning example to us all.

The Brighton 10k also provided a happy hunting ground for North Derbyshire athlete Ann Barker who produced an excellent run with one of her fastest times for many years!
The last few races to mention were all over the not so often run distance of 10 miles.
Many of you ran the fast Derby 10 while the not so fast Tadcaster 10 didn’t seem to hold you back as there were great runs and new personal bests from Richard Burke, Susie Hinchcliffe, Richard Ward and an eye catching performance from Mark Chapman for his first run of 2024.

However, this week’s “Run of the week” goes to a lady who we have already mentioned earlier in this report in Tracey Gibson.
Not content with just one race over the weekend Tracey got off the plane on Sunday morning in Manchester to make it to the startline of the Preston 10 mile road race which also doubled at the Northern Master counties championships and she only went and won her V60 age group despite setting the alarms off in the airport with her race number pins still attached!
Massive well done to everyone who raced and as always thank you for taking time to let us know your results as it really helps to keep up with you all…..until next week keep training!
