Team Blizard Race Report

Welcome back to our weekly round up of races that you have all been smashing it in!

Kicking off the week we saw a couple of coached athletes head over to the Barnsley AC track races which included a 1 mile and 2 mile track race.
In both races Portugal bound athletes in Lydia Race and Seth Kirby excelled and we can guarantee warmer weather for you both in a few weeks time!

Changing surfaces to the cross country saw Alice Fearn take the Lincolnshire schools  title by a country mile and add to her long list of county schools champions.

Temple Newsam 10 saw the next race to report from and London marathon bound Elle Warren from the host club took 2nd place overall in the ladies race while Tokyo marathon duo of Simon Kendall and Rachael McCluskey used the race as part of their build up in tough conditions.

Popular training group member “Robbo” Roberts made the long trip to Wales worthwhile as he ran a very fast 10k in the super fast Twin Piers 10k.

Same distance just from different country saw Cleethorpes’s athlete Callum Ely show he is fully recovered from his marathon pb in Valencia a few weeks ago only to return to beat his 10k pb , there must be something in that city he likes!

However, this week’s “Run of the Week” goes to a coached athlete who is a bit of expert when it comes to running pb’s in Valencia in the shape of Clapham Chaser and coached athlete Scotty Burrell.
Having fallen and injuring himself badly just a few weeks ago, Scott has shown get determination to get back into great shape and we are delighted to report that he broke that 16mins barrier for 5k that he has been chasing for so long and it was well deserved.

A massive well done to everyone who has raced and sorry if we have missed anyone.
It is looking like 2024 is going to be a very good year for Team Blizard and until next week….keep training!
