Team Blizard Race Report
Once again we have a bumper race report for you all to enjoy and celebrate the performances of our running community.
Fresh back from Portugal, we bring you a round up of the results in the last 7 days and the results have been spectacular!
Kicking the week off on Friday night we saw “young wolf” Lucas Davis run the York 5k series and once again PB and he just keeps getting faster and faster.
It is the season of half/full marathons coming up, so our next race to mention is the Great Eastern half marathon in Peterborough.
Evergreen Eric Winston running his 33rd Peterborough marathon, once again put in a fine performance, while there was a return to racing for Yvonne Scarrott who ran her fastest half marathon since 2017, well done Yvonne!

More local to home we saw the excellent Curly’s athletes organised Hedgehog half marathon, where coached athlete Stephen Geraghty placed highly in 2nd place and is progressing well towards the New York marathon, while Susie Hinchcliffe, Tamara Hazlehurst, Jonathan Barnett and Matt Wroe all part of the Blizard community/coaching set up put in fine performances, with Jonathan taking the V60 1st place and Susie 2nd place in the V50.

We don't mention parkrun results every week just because so many of you run in them and it would take up the whole report by itself, but we do think it is worth mentioning that there was a couple of lifetime personal bests achieved over the weekend
Notably Dean Thomas at Market Rasen, Nick Williams at Middlesboro with many of you doing the Selby event with no group training. Becky Friar and Keri Pearson both pbs with Keri running her fastest 5k ever at the age of 41 in her final preparations before the Yorkshire marathon on Sunday.

Speaking of marathons, we jump across the pond to the Chicago marathon, where it was great to see yet another PB from Matt Harvey who just keeps getting faster and faster, while coached athlete Sarah Sanderson did the first leg of her double with the Chicago and New York marathon in her plans.

The final race to mention is the super fast Manchester half marathon which is gaining popularity with its guaranteed fast times, perfect conditions greeted the runners this year and there was fine runs from Mary Davies while coached athletes Andrew Kitchen and Colin Storrar and Friday night attendee on the Blizard Run Club, Andy Hopper, but each week we need to give a run of the week and this week goes to Tracey Fearn who ran a lifetime PB over the half marathon at the age of 56, stopping the clock in an impressive one hour 26 minutes and bodes well for her Valencia marathon in a few weeks time.

Thank you everybody who sent in your results, it really helps us pull this report together and sorry if we missed anybody. Until next week…….. keep training!
