Team Blizard Race Report

This week’s race report is a little shorter than most weeks as not too many races were held where the team attended but the quality remained extremely high.

Kicking things off we saw St Theresa's athlete Mark Chapman record a new personal best in the Even Splits 5km in York, well done that man!

There was a heavy off-road theme this week with coached athlete Freddie “the fox” Fearn running well in the Braids university cross country race and several of  the team ran in the first round of the West Yorkshire Peco cross country league on what was a muddy course!

Staying with an off-road event and fresh from the Blizard Run club class on Friday night saw Vivianne Fraser race the Dalby Dash 10k trail race.

Moving a little further a field to Spain another coached athlete in Paul Massey warmed up for his marathon in three weeks by running the Alicante half marathon and showed good form ahead of the Valencia marathon.

With so many of the team regularly doing Park runs up and down the country we tend not to include them in our race report as the list would go on and on forever but a massive well done to Kev Geer for finally cracking a sub 20 minutes in the Rother Valley event.

However, this week’s “Run of the week” goes to Pro cyclist Connor Swift who joined the training group over at the Doddington Hall Park run which we were using as our away day run.
Running in his first running race ahead of the forthcoming Doncaster 10k he stopped the clock in an impressive 17.19mins which is a great time for someone who doesn’t run!

Next week see’s a busy period of races coming up so expect a “bumper” report coming your way next week!
Until next week…..keep training!
