Race Report - 13th August 2024

As the action over in Paris reached it’s conclusion the members from Team Blizard continued to “march on” with an excellent array of performances over several distances and surfaces.

 

First up on Wednesday evening was Rotherham Harrier and weekly member of the Blizard Run club strength and conditioning class in Simon Oak who finished off a great Summer for him on the track and great work from his coach Nigel Brookes getting him into great shape with a fast  800m over at Loughboro’ and this was followed up with a Park Run pb on Saturday!

 

 

Staying with mid week and the local Howden 10k provided happy hunting ground for Ackworth pair of Liam Saddler who came away with a new pb and Richard Burke who ran a fine race as we look towards some 10k targets later in the year.

 

Friday evening the ever popular York 5k series took place and coached athlete from Catterick Al Reid took a huge slice off his 5k pb and we used this race while in heavy training towards our main target of a half marathon later in the year.

 

The final race to mention was the mid week Quayside 5k held up in Newcastle where Coach Tune’s daughter Romany Tune made a welcome return to racing along side “Team Fearn” who once again all had good runs with Alice and Freddie both performing well but this week’s “Run of the Week” goes to Mrs Tracey Fearn who ran a season’s best to get back under 20 mins and take the V50 win.
