Team Blizard Race Report

It has been a super busy week of racing from all you guys in the Team Blizard community so settle back and read about all the success across a full range of distances you all have excelled at!

The early part of the week saw coached athlete Richard Burke busy with 2 races in 2 days in the Leg it to the Library/Canal 5k where he raced well in both!

Staying with the 5k distance saw the return of the summer Loxley Lash 5k where Chris Jackson beat his best ever time that had stood since 2017!

Moving onto the track and the famously fast Trafford track meet once again lived up to its reputation as Alice Fearn lowered her 3000m best time in her first track race of the year.

Brother Freddie Fearn was also in action as he ran in the Glasgow 10k in hot conditions and recorded another super fast time.

There were more 10k races around this weekend and we saw fine runs in the Beverley 10k from another coached athlete in Tom Whitley and this was backed up with an excellent 1st V50 position from training partner to many of you in Joe Restell.

The Welbeck trail 10k was the next race to mention where long time supporter of the clinic in Brenda J King raced.

Once again the Leeds marathon was held in very hot conditions which added to the very undulating course but this was made light work of for Matt Wroe who went under 3hrs while Portugal attendees Matty Belland Ruth Muir showed why warm weather training works and poor Ruth ran her second marathon in 2 weeks in these conditions!

However, we need each week to name our “Run of the Week” and this week it goes to Elle Warren who bounced back from the Manchester marathon only 2 weeks ago to take 3rd lady overall in the half marathon running a fast time in those conditions!

A big thank you to everyone who sent your results in and as always sorry if we missed anyone as there is just so many of you!
Until next week……keep training!
