Team Blizard Race Report

Once again the action came thick and fast over a variety of distances/surfaces in the last week.
Kicking the week off we saw the ever growing Loxley 5k run over in Sheffield on the cycle track take place.
There were a couple of coached athletes taking place and both performed very well with Chris Jackson running his fastest 5k time since 2007 and he was chased home by training partner to many of you Rebecca Frair who once again went under that 20 minutes  barrier for the 5k distance so well done to you both.

Changing surfaces to trail saw the Kimmy Kanter take place with so many of you using these mid week races as sharpers.
Showing his legs are fully recovered from the recent London marathon Wayne Singleton, gave another fine performance as did Berlin bound Sarah Sanderson to name just two of the many that ran.

The Slateman duathlon was the event that Llyr ApGeraint-Roberts “Robbo” chose to do rather than come drinking in York with his training partners but he was rewarded with a full 2 minutes course personal best and a 3rd position overall!

There were a couple of 10k races locally in the form of the Curly’s event Woodhall Spa 10k and the Hull 10k taking place on Sunday.
Paul Massey took 3rd place V70 over in Hull while there were podium positions for both Michael Skelton and Tracey Gibson at Woodhall.

However , this week’s “Run of the week” took place on the track at Leeds on Monday evening in the BMC event where firstly Alice Fearn ran a seasons best to show she is heading into top form for the English Schools championships in a few weeks time but was out done by her brother Freddie Fearn who smashed his best ever time to take this week’s award.

Many thanks to all those who sent their results in and until next week…..keep training!
