Team Blizard Race Report

Another week and another motivating race report is here for you all to read.

This time of the year the action comes thick and fast with a full variety of distances covered.
Wednesday night racing on the sea front at Cleethorpes was the venue of our first race in the Colin Moody 5 mile race where coached athlete and Portugal attendee Tracey Gibson showed she is on track for her marathon in a few weeks time with a fine run.

Friday night saw the next round  of the ever popular York cycle track 5k where dad and son duo of Lee and Lucas Davies both ran really well to record super fast times.

Saturday as well as so many of you running really well in Park runs up and down the country we saw the local Gerald Story race where London bound Adrian Hopkinson put in a final performance ahead of his marathon this weekend and a welcome return to racing for long time supporter of the clinic and coached athlete Brenda J King

Moving up a little in distance to the 10k and the Lincoln 10k provided happy hunting ground for many of you with Wes Taylor finishing very highly and closely chased down by man of the moment Freddie Fearn and another marathon bound athlete in Wayne Singleton pb’ing once again in this marathon block.

These results were backed up by fine runs from James Fisher,Alice and Tracey Fearn with Tracey taking her age group victory while ever present training partner Gavin Edley once again put in a great performance.
A special mention needs to go to Retford athlete Dawn Keeligan“Pink Bird” who has been struggling a little since Portugal having fallen while out on a run and injured herself but has bounced back with a brand new personal best time in Lincoln!

The final race to mention was the Manchester marathon which took place and we had many runners taking part.

There are simply too many of you all to mention but a few of the more eye catching performances came from North Derbyshire trio of Neil Yewman,@Shaun Johnson and Dawn Bradley. A massive new personal best from Richard Copley, Dean Thomas and Chris Wade.

Special mentions need to go to training partners Matt Hamer,@Chris Griffiths who although didn’t run pbs both had great runs in difficult build ups.

However, it is a joint shared “Run of the week” for two very different reasons.
Firstly, coached athlete Brad Walker finished off an excellent few months of training and racing stopping the clock in an impressive 2.33hrs taking 10 minutes off his best previous time and also to Leeds athlete Sue Crabtree who has shown the strength that is nothing short of inspirational over the last year to deservedly clock a time of under 3.30hrs and is a hero to us all.

Well done everyone and more action to come next week.
Thank you to all those who sent their results in and until next week…..keep training!
